Pastoral Council – The purpose of the Parish Pastoral Council, in collaboration with the pastor, who presides over the council, is to foster full participation of the entire parish in the life and mission of the parish and of the Universal  Church. The parish faith community participates in this mission by:  Worshiping God; Creating and nurturing Christian Community; Growing in Faith and Holiness; Serving those in need, especially the poor.

Finance Council – The Finance Council assists and advises the Pastor with respect to the supervision of all material goods belonging to the Parish by reviewing and analyzing the financial activities of the parish, monitoring compliance with the annual parish budget, reviewing quarterly financial reports, and reviewing the financial impact of the mission and ministry of the parish as established by the pastor.

Council of Catholic Women – The St. James Council of Catholic Women as members of the National Council of Catholic Women, the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, and the Rockford Deanery of Catholic Women, acts through its membership to support, empower, and educate all Catholic women in spirituality, leadership, and service. All programs respond with gospel values to the needs of the Church and society in the modern world.

Knights of Columbus – St. James Men’s group whose members, in a spirit of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism, resolve to promote and protect St. James Parish and our Catholic faith, and to serve God by worshiping, evangelizing, educating and ministering to the needs of all.

Legion of Mary – The Legion of Mary is an Association of Catholics who, with the sanction of the Church and under the powerful leadership of Mary Immaculate, Mediatrix of all Graces, have formed themselves into a Legion for service in the warfare which is perpetually waged by the Church against the world and its evil powers.

Youth Ministry – is a parish-wide ministry which strives to foster the personal and spiritual growth of each young person while providing a variety of opportunities and experiences to draw teens into active, responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the faith community and the greater church. St. James Youth Ministry is for all high school youth.
