¡Cristo ha resucitado, aleluya!  Nuestro Sumo Sacerdote, Jesucristo, dio Su vida por nosotros y la tomó de nuevo para nuestra salvación. Él es el Buen Pastor que murió voluntariamente por Su rebaño para llevarlo a pastos eternos. Nadie le quitó la vida, sino que Él la entregó libremente en un pacto de amor que se entregaba a sí mismo. Durante este año de Renovación Eucarística, se nos recuerda una y otra vez que renovemos nuestra fe y asombro ante la presencia real y verdadera, cuerpo y sangre, alma y divinidad de Cristo en la Santa Eucaristía.  Es una realidad desastrosa y preocupante que solo un 33% de los católicos creen en la Presencia Real, a pesar de todas las referencias bíblicas a las palabras de Jesús que indican que es una realidad literal y no simplemente un símbolo o una forma piadosa de hablar. Por ejemplo, cuando Jesús habla de sí mismo como el pan de vida y de su cuerpo y sangre como comida y bebida y la gente se aleja, no retrocede ni “embrutece” su enseñanza. (Cf. Jn 6,35 y Jn 6,53-56).  Se llama presencia sacramental porque lo que se ve físicamente es pan y vino, pero lo que es la realidad es el cuerpo y la sangre, el alma y la divinidad de Cristo. Hoy es el segundo domingo de Pascua. La Resurrección de Jesús es tan importante que se pretende que este domingo se celebre con la misma solemnidad que el Domingo de Resurrección. Hacemos lo mejor que podemos. Es el último de los ocho días solemnes de la Semana Santa. La Octava. Luego, el tiempo de Pascua continúa hasta Pentecostés.  El Señor resucitado nos da tres dones: la paz, el perdón de los pecados y la fe sin ver (“Por fe andamos, no por vista” (2 Corintios 5:7).   Este domingo también se ha llamado Domingo de la Divina Misericordia. Muchas personas buscarán indulgencias y otras bendiciones en este día.
