Este fin de semana celebramos la Solemnidad del Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo (Corpus Christi). Celebramos ese gran regalo que Jesús nos dejó en la Última Cena. Fortalecemos nuestra fe en que la Sagrada Eucaristía es verdaderamente el Cuerpo y la Sangre, el Alma y la Divinidad de Cristo.  Es el sacerdote quien consagra el pan y el vino en este maravilloso don. Actúa en la persona de Cristo.   “Es el mismo sacerdote, Cristo Jesús, cuya sagrada persona representa verdaderamente su ministro. Ahora bien, el ministro, por razón de la consagración sacerdotal que ha recibido, está verdaderamente hecho semejante al sumo sacerdote y tiene la autoridad de obrar en el poder y lugar de la persona de Cristo mismo (virtute ac persona ipsius Christi).  “Cristo es la fuente de todo sacerdocio: el sacerdote de la antigua ley era una figura de Cristo, y el sacerdote de la nueva ley actúa en la persona de Cristo”. Mark your calendars for the Corpus Christi Procession beginning at 1:00 p.m. on June 2, 2024,  at the corner of Church and Caswell Streets. The procession route will be around the block and back to the church.
