Dear Parishioners of St. James:
The Lord is risen, alleluia!
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is the most glorious act in human history. Jesus conquered death forever by dying and rising from the grave in human flesh. Now we can live forever. Now, death no longer has power over us who believe in the Lord Jesus.
All sadness should flee today. Rejoicing and glad tidings must abound. The tomb that closed Jesus in is empty. He is risen from the dead and will never die again (cf., Rom. 6:9). Death is no longer the end of life but has instead become the beginning. We must now look forward to our last day on earth because, for those in the state of grace, it is the day of our birth to new life, resurrected life.
The Lord is risen. He is risen indeed, alleluia! Death no longer has power over Him, alleluia! Death no longer has power over us, alleluia!
