Fr. Geary’s Letter, 12-20-2020

Dear Parishioners of St. James:

     Praised be Jesus Christ!

This Christmas will be unlike any other in our lifetimes.  People are unsure of their plans, caring for sick loved ones, and feeling anxious about the pandemic.  But Christmas will still come on December 25th.  We still must celebrate the Lord’s birth Who came to save us from our sins.

Make a place for Jesus in your hearts.  If you cannot come to Mass, pray the Rosary with your family.  If you cannot come to Mass, watch the Mass with the Holy Father in the Vatican in all its beauty.  If you cannot come to Mass, read the account of Christ’s birth from the Gospel before your meal.  Our faith must grow in spite of (and because of) the pandemic.  The birth of Jesus began our salvation ad God entered His own creation assuming our nature to raise us up to His.

Jesus is among us in the Most Holy Eucharist.  Come, let us adore Him.  Jesus will come again in glory.  Come, Lord Jesus.  Jesus is born for us.  Come, let us recognize the One Who alone can save us.

God bless you,

Fr. Geary
