Fr. Geary’s Letter, 7-26-2020

Dear Parishioners of St. James:

Praised be Jesus Christ!

When our Blessed Mother appeared in Fatima, Portugal, the year was 1917.  In the same year Communists, inspired by the philosophy of Karl Marx, overthrew the Christian ruler of Russia and imposed their evil system of government that grew into the Soviet Union.  Our Lady warned that if her message of prayer and penance went unheeded Russia would spread her errors throughout the world causing great suffering.

The civil unrest we are experiencing in our country can be traced to that same Marxist ideology.  One of the founders of Black Lives Matter admitted that her organization is Marxist.  Their own website states that they “disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure” and want to “free themselves from heteronormative thinking.”  Like the Soviets who were guided by Marxism, Black Lives Matter seeks to pit classes against each other implying systemic oppression out of which their organization guarantees liberation.  The means to liberation is revolution from a cultural system based on the traditional family, capitalism, religious liberty and merit.

Of course black lives matter.  If one were to think that they don’t he would rightly be labeled a racist.  But what the organization aims to change is the idea of the family as instituted by God.  Another example of deception through a slogan is the abortion rights movement that uses the motto:  “pro-choice.”   Who wouldn’t support free will in decision making?  No one.  However, beneath the veneer of freedom implicit in being “pro-choice” lies a murderous infrastructure of hired killers who kill babies for money.  Look deeper.  Do not be fooled.  Some organizations play on our sympathies in order to fuel their evil agenda.

What underlies these slogans are wicked organizations who seek to overthrow a society based on principles revealed by almighty God.  In every country where Communism (which is atheistic) established itself disaster has followed:  The Soviet Union, China, North Korea, Cuba and Venezuela.  Each Communist government promised free education, free health care, equality and shared wealth.  What resulted from Communism was mass murder, poverty, government deification and religious suppression.

The America system of government, imperfect as it is, seeks to preserve and promote unalienable rights given to us by almighty God.  Freedom of religion, free speech, personal responsibility, private property and political checks and balances enable our citizenry to exercise their God-given rights.  We need to be vigilant to preserve our God-given freedoms, not abolish them.   Be on your guard when you hear slogans like “equality” or “economic justice” when they are joined to an ideology that seeks to replace Christian principles in order to effect their evil designs.

God bless you,

Fr. Geary
