Dear Parishioners of St. James:
Praised be Jesus Christ!
We have some great news: Next month our church debt will be paid off! Praise the Lord! By God’s grace and your generosity, our parish has finally paid off the loan for our expanded church completed and dedicated on December 18, 2014.
Since we first solicited pledges in 2012, and through several campaigns, our dream for a larger church, parish offices, and new rectory location has come true. All told, the entire project cost more than $6.5 million since we had to purchase property, demolish the old rectory, remove asbestos, enlarge a parking lot, build out Connolly Hall, and construct an extension onto the original 1886 church building.
In thanksgiving to God and to all of you, we are hosting a Debt Payoff Celebration Open House on Wednesday, April 26th, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in the St. James Center gymnasium. The evening will be a joyful reunion filled with hors d’oeuvres, pictures of construction, a commemorative party favor, and good company.
This is also a time to welcome you to continue to give financially at the level in which you have been giving over the past 10 years so that we can continue to fund regular maintenance and future capital improvements. The Lord has provided for us since we began giving at a higher level. Will He not continue to bless us with His gifts as we have proved generous with Him so far?
Congratulations on a historic accomplishment. Generations to come will benefit from your sacrifice and fidelity. Please save the date for our celebration in thanksgiving to God and to all of you.
God bless you,
Fr. Geary
