Dear Parishioners of St. James:
Jesus Christ is Born for Us; Come Let Us Adore Him!
The magi traveled to Bethlehem from the east for one purpose: To adore Jesus Christ. When they saw Jesus, they prostrated themselves and did Him homage. They recognized Him as the king of the Jews. Thirty-three years later, even Pontius Pilate would insist that Jesus have the title king of the Jews atop the Cross of crucifixion.
Epiphany means “manifestation.” The Son of God made man lay in the manger in Bethlehem to be adored. It is right and just to give God His due. God took on human flesh so that we might look upon Him and be saved.
Every Thursday from 8:00a.m. – 6:30p.m. here at St. James, the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ is truly present on the altar for adoration. The same Babe of Bethlehem is here in Belvidere on the altar in our church. Come, let us adore Him! Come, kneel down and adore the living God. Come, visit the Prince of Peace. Come, lay your gift of love at His feet. Seek Him while He may be found. He is God-with-us, Emmanuel.
God bless you,
Fr. Geary
