Fr. Geary’s Letter, 10-17-2021

Dear Parishioners of St. James:

Praised be Jesus Christ!

Jesus transformed suffering into service.  As the Father’s servant, “Jesus humbled

himself, becoming obedient unto death, even to the death of the cross” (Phil. 2:8).  The suffering and death of Jesus served to redeem us from our sins.  By virtue of Jesus’ suffering our suffering can now serve to save souls.

The greatest in the kingdom of God is the one who serves.  How can we serve God and our neighbor?  Offer your suffering.  Offer Jesus your discomfort, frustrations, aches and pains, etc.  Nothing is wasted with God.  Your suffering is the currency that purchases souls.  Don’t waste your wealth!  By giving back to God what He permits you to experience you can share in Christ’s service of the salvation of souls.

All of us are called to serve.  Be generous with God in your suffering.  Everyone can serve God in their own way.  Bring your offering to Jesus on the Cross so that souls may be saved.

God bless you,

Fr. Geary
