We give glory and eternal praise to God for the gift of the ordination of Rev. Mr. James Linkenheld to the priesthood in the Diocese of Rockford on Saturday, June 5th, at 11:00 am at the Cathedral of St. Peter. Because of Covid-19 restrictions his ordination Mass will be by invitation only. It will be livestreamed at www.rockforddiocese.org.
Soon-to-be priest James Linkenheld is from our parish! The Lord called him while he was in college at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. He followed the Lord’s voice and entered college seminary eight years ago. For the past four years he has been studying at the Gregorian theologate and residing at the Pontifical North American College in Rome, Italy.We are so proud of him. Thank you for your prayers for vocations to the priesthood. They have truly borne fruit.
Fr. Linkenheld will offer a Mass of Thanksgiving here at St. James (the day following his ordination) on Sunday, June 6th, at 3:00 pm. All are warmly invited to join him in this special Mass. It will fulfill your Sunday obligation so plan to come. Congratulate him and his family, receive his newly ordained priest blessing (which carries a plenary indulgence, under the usual conditions) and join the chorus of angels and saints who glory in the gift of the priesthood of Jesus Christ.
