Dear Parishioners of St. James:
Praised be Jesus Christ!
The mission of the Catholic Church is the salvation of souls. Our Lord Jesus established the Church endowing her with the Sacraments which give eternal life. We are to preach the Gospel, teach all that He commanded us and make disciples of all the nations.
Each year our Diocese asks that each parish member contribute to the work of the Church in the annual Diocesan Appeal. You should have already received pledge cards in the mail asking you to participate. Now is the time to make your pledge. Your contribution allows the Diocese to pay for our seminarians’ education, ministry formation, the Bishop’s support staff, youth ministry, and more.
Our parish goal is $75,862.00 for this year. If each person pledges 1% of their annual income we will meet our goal easily. Without your participation, our parish will have to pay our target goal from our checking account. Therefore, we need everyone to make a pledge. If you do not have your pledge card at home, cards will be in the church pews this Sunday. Please return them next week when you come to church or simply mail them or drop them off at the office.
Thank you for your generosity toward the annual Diocesan Appeal. May the Lord reward your support toward the work of saving souls. May our example and sacrifice lead more souls to eternal life.
God Bless You,
Fr. Geary
