Dear Parishioners of St. James,
Praised be Jesus Christ!
In just two weeks, another faithful man from our parish will be ordained a permanent deacon for St. James. Mr. Stewart Dobson has been in formation for the past 7 years preparing to serve the Catholic Church as a deacon. He will be ordained by Bishop David J. Malloy at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Rockford on Saturday, May 15th, at 11:00 am. Because of Covid-19 seating is by invitation only but all of you can watch it on livestream at rockforddiocese.org.
The soon-to-be Deacon Stewart Dobson has already served our parish in some visible ways as an acolyte, lector, instructor for R.C.I.A. and Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion to the homebound. Stewart will serve alongside our other faithful servants, Deacon Jim Olson and Deacon Steven Johnson.
Please welcome our new deacon as he preaches his first Masses on Sunday, May 16th. A meet and greet reception will take place after each Mass on Sunday, May 16th, in Connolly Hall (the church basement). May the Lord bless Stewart with many years of faithful service to God’s people here at St. James.
God bless you,
Fr. Geary
