Dear Parishioners of St. James:
Praised be Jesus Christ!
St. Joseph is our model of adoration since he lived in the same house with Jesus for decades. As Fr. Donald J. Calloway says in his book Consecration to St. Joseph (Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception, 2020), St. Joseph united himself to every event in Jesus’ life in their home in Nazareth. He shows us by example how to continuously live in the presence of God.
St. Joseph teaches us to find the Real Presence of Jesus in every tabernacle or church where the Eucharist is exposed for adoration. As he gazed upon the most sacred Body and Blood of Jesus Christ for hours on end, St. Joseph points us to direct our gaze to his foster Child in each Catholic church where the Most Blessed Sacrament is reserved. Jesus waits for us to adore Him as St. Joseph did. Like a cloistered religious, St. Joseph spoke, worked, rested and conversed only with God and the Blessed Virgin Mary day and night. We can find some time in our busy lives to speak to the Lord truly present in the tabernacle as he did those many years in Nazareth.
Ask St. Joseph to win the graces you need to keep watch with Jesus in the tabernacle or exposed on the altar. St. Joseph adored the very same Body and Blood of Christ truly present in the Most Blessed Sacrament. With faith like his we will one day see Jesus Christ in heaven as we adore Him truly present now on earth under the Sacramental veil.
God bless you,
Fr. Geary
