Dear Parishioners of St. James:
Jesus Christ is risen, alleluia, alleluia!
Let Heaven and earth exult with rejoicing gladness. Jesus Christ has broken through the gates of death that bound all men because of sin. Death has been defeated; eternal life now commences. The sorrow of the tomb has been turned into joy. The Lord is indeed risen as He said, alleluia!
Hope has arisen. Sin cannot enslave us any longer. Forgiveness and new life are assured for those who believe. Our bodies and souls are destined for heavenly glory because of Jesus Christ. What was incorruptible has put on incorruptibility. Now we can say with great confidence, “Death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory?” (cf. 1 Cor. 15:54-55).
Our earthly pilgrimage has an eternal destination. Offered suffering builds a weight of eternal glory. The faithful can now look forward to death because it is the gateway to never-ending life where we will enjoy, in our bodies, the endless joy of the blessed forever. Praised be Jesus Christ, our risen Lord. His glory will never end, alleluia, alleluia!
