Fr. Geary’s Letter for 9-24-23

Dear Parishioners of St. James:

            Praised be Jesus Christ!

In the Holy Scriptures, the image of a “day” signifies a lifetime. The Lord has invited us to work for Him at various hours of the “day” in our life. He sought you at the dawn of your life, at nine o’clock, noon, three o’clock and five o’clock.  At what hour of your “day” are you in right now? Are you still idle? Why haven’t you started working for the Lord in His vineyard?

“The harvest is plenty, but laborers are few” (Mt. 9:35). God’s vineyard needs laborers. In what way is the Lord inviting you to work for Him? It is getting late in the day. Have we sat idle when it comes to working for the Lord? Thankfully there is still time; it is not yet too late. The Lord is calling you to labor for the harvest of souls. Will you respond to His call and go to work for Him?

God bless you,

Fr. Geary
