Praised be Jesus Christ!
In this Eucharistic Revival year, we consider today how to “make a visit” to Jesus in the tabernacle or during adoration of the Most Holy Eucharist. Jesus said, “Come to me…and I will give you rest.” (Mt. 11:28).How do you make a visit to Jesus?
First, identify the closest tabernacle to your home/work. It could be a church, a Catholic hospital, school, or other dedicated chapel. Jesus is there waiting for you. He wants to fill you with His grace to strengthen you to do God’s will in everything. Remember, without Jesus we can do nothing (cf. Jn. 15:5).
Second, when you enter into the Real Presence of Jesus, make an act of faith by genuflecting or kneeling (if possible), and silently speak to Him as an intimate friend. Tell Him that you love Him. Tell Him what’s on your mind. Adore His sacred Presence. Let Him love you.
Third, before you leave, thank Him for having given you the grace to visit Him, and tell Him when you will come to visit Him again. Both of you will, then, look forward to your next encounter.
Frequent visits to Jesus will strengthen your spiritual life immensely. Jesus and you will become better friends the more you spend time together and share your hearts with each other.
He is waiting for you.
God bless you,
Fr. Geary
