Dear Parishioners of St. James:
A key part of this Eucharistic Revival year is the role of the laity in the work of evangelization. Jesus said in today’s Gospel, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few” and, “Go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel” (Mt. 9:37; 10:6). God has called you by name to be His witnesses right here in Boone County.
You parishioners who believe in Jesus: share your faith, bring lost souls of our parish into the Kingdom of God! Your mission is to the lost sheep of Boone County. Bring them to Jesus in the Tabernacle and Holy Mass where He is truly present. Bring them to the confessional to receive the forgiveness and healing of our Savior. Bring them to Holy Matrimony in the Church, not to the counterfeit attempts at marriage that people make in the culture. Bring them to be baptized weeks after birth so that their children may be rescued from Satan’s power and be brought into the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. Teach them to pray so that the Holy Spirit may fill them with holy desires to do God’s will.
The kingdom of God is at hand. Our mission field is right here. Go to the lost sheep of Boone County. Bring them to Jesus.
