Dear Parishioners of St. James:
Praised be Jesus Christ!
Our parish will host an exhibit of Eucharistic miracles in Connolly Hall from June 1-15. The exhibit shows pictures of miracles from around the world where Our Lord made visible His most sacred Body and Blood after consecration at Holy Mass. Please visit Connolly Hall after Holy Mass or during office hours to see for yourself.
As a fruit of the holy sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross re-presented at Holy Mass, the whole substance of the bread becomes Our Lord’s Body and the whole substance of the wine becomes Our Lord’s Blood, leaving only the appearances of bread and wine. The Church calls this consecration: transubstantiation. Our Lord’s Flesh and Blood are truly present after the consecration by a priest at Holy Mass. The transubstantiation results not because of our faith, but because of Our Lord’s words spoken by a Catholic priest during Holy Mass.
When Our Lord performs a Eucharistic miracle, His Flesh and Blood (normally hidden) become visible. Exhaustive tests from secular scientists confirm that true human flesh and true human blood are present in these miracles. What a confirmation of our Faith! At every Holy Mass, the Holy Spirit makes Jesus Christ truly present for our salvation and healing.
The Eucharist is the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus Christ. It is Jesus Whom we worship and adore. Our Lord commands our presence in His real Presence so that He might bring us eternal life. Love so amazing and divine demands our entire life in return. Come, let us adore Him, Emmanuel, Jesus Christ our Lord.
God bless you,
Fr. Geary
