WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO CONTINUE YOUR CHILD’S
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Even after children receive First Holy Communion, it is important to continue Religious Education classes. For children who have received First Communion, the classes below are offered. (Older children, after receiving First Communion, will be placed in the grade level class they
attend at school.)

3^rd Grade—Continued study of the basic teaching of the Catholic Church
4^th Grade—Basic teaching of the Catholic Church with focus of study on the Ten Commandments
5^th Grade—Basic teaching of the Catholic Church with focus of study on the Seven Sacraments
6^th Grade—Continues teaching of the Catholic Church with emphasis on the Word of God in the Old Testament—Including Revelation, the Church, Morality, and the Kingdom of God
7^th Grade—Beginning of Two-Year preparation for Confirmation.
