What does the Church count as the Central Mystery of the Christian Faith and Life?

Not the incarnation, not the resurrection, not the mystical body of Christ. You may be surprised to learn that the Trinity is this great central mystery.

CCC 234 states: “The mystery of the Trinity is the central mystery of Christian faith and life. It is the mystery of God Himself.” This paragraph of the Catechism goes on to prove that this mystery is so much more than a fact. “It is…the mystery that is the source of all the other mysteries of faith, the light that enlightens them.”

We continue our discussion beyond how God reveals Himself to us, to what He reveals about Himself. Please join us this Tuesday in Connolly Hall in the lower level of the church at 6:30 PM as Fr. Geary leads us in this discovery. Enter by the Church office doors. Masks required. Social distancing practiced. If you wish to prepare for sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, or Confirmation through this journey, please call the parish office at 815-547-6397 for additional information, or simply join us this Tuesday.
